All Guilds Show On Now

The Art Gallery of Burlington has hung the first annual All Guilds Show that we told you about in our last post. It is on now until the 24th of May and it is well worth the trip to Burlington to see the whole show.

Seven guilds have been brought together for one fabulous show of talent and creativity. You will see of course our fibre and textile work, photography, spinners and weavers, woodcarving, fine arts, rug hooking, and pottery. All seven exhibitions together create a beautiful tapestry of art and talent!

Below, are some photographs of the opening reception on April 26 with a wonderful turnout for awards and refreshments.

Enjoy and best wishes,
Fibre Arts Burlington

Of course, more information can be found on the AGB's website which is www.artgalleryofburlington.com - and a reception will be held on Sunday, April 26 from 2 until 4.

Fibre Art Members support Relay for Hope 2015

Hello again and I hope that the longer days and warmer temperatures have everyone feeling spring.

A quick note to share before we post about our upcoming show ...

Two of the Burlington Fibre Arts members have participated in producing artwork for the 2015 Relay for Hope in support of HIV/AIDS.

Fibre Art panels from each of the 10 provinces and 3 territories will be joined together to become a 12' by 12' quilt that will travel with the relay runners leaving St.John's, NL this April and finishing the journey in Hope, BC - October of 2015.

Both panels pull together elements for the provinces that they represent and showcase the artists' individual style!

Please enjoy ... and know that you can follow the relay online at www.relayforhope.ca

The Nova Scotia Panel completed by Barbara Chapman of Oakville, ON - a native Eastcoaster  with a love for the ocean, a rugged coastline and lighthouses!

And the Ontario Panel completed by Burlington member Robynne Cole, and three of her colleagues pictured below with their panel. The Ontario panel showcases the elements of Ontario we all know and are so familiar with!

The Ontario panel artists are Robynne Cole (BFA member) with Karen Sirianni, Jo-Anne Vandermey, and Al Cote.

Please enjoy and check back soon for news and images of the Burlington Fibre Arts upcoming collaborative show at the Art Gallery of Burlington starting April 18th, 2015.

We are all very excited to soon share with you "The Colours and Textures of Nature" ...

Best Wishes,
The Burlington Fibre Artists

Here are a couple of examples of what you might see when you visit!
